Upcoming Fall 2010 Clinics


Run For Fun (beginner) Beginning Tuesday, September 14th at 6:00 p.m.
  • An introduction into running by using run:walk ratios that progress over a 10 week period

  • 2 levels of beginner groups based on entry fitness levels

  • Must be able to walk comfortably for 20-30 mins prior to start of clinic

  • Discussion topics include; goal setting, gait analysis, common injuries and prevention, base building, stride, breathing, clothing, nutrition, supplemental training, pace setting, and race preparation.


Run 5km (intermediate) Beginning Monday, September 13th at 6:00 p.m.
  • A finishing goal of running an efficient 5km by gradually increasing distance and technical running elements over a 10 week period (ending with local 5km fun run)

  • Must be able to jog for a steady 15 mins minimum prior to start of clinic

  • Discussion topic include; goals, setting a program, shoes, clothing, common injuries and prevention, hill training, supplemental training, nutrition, hydration, interval training, speed and tempo training, and race preparation


Run 10km (intermediate) Beginning Monday, September 13th at 6:00 p.m.
  • A finishing goal of running an efficient 10km by gradually increasing distance and technical running elements over a 10 week period (ending with local 10km fun run)

  • Must be able to jog for a steady 5km prior to start of clinic

  • Discussion topic include; goals, setting a program, shoes, clothing, common injuries and prevention, hill training, supplemental training, nutrition, hydration, interval training, speed and tempo training, and race preparation

Nordic Walking (all levels) Beginning Saturday, October 9th at 9:00 a.m.
     
  • An introduction into nordic walking as a fitness activity and learning the fundamentals and benefits of this type of workout over a five week period

  • Must be able to walk comfortably for 20-30 mins prior to start of clinic

  • Discussion topics include; how to properly use poles, warm-up techniques, stretches, clothing, building a base, injuries, and walking in the elements.
